2007 Season Preview

Head coach: Jeff Pinder, 3rd season.

Last year's record: 10-8 PAC-10, 15-9 overall.

Players to watch: Tom DeAngelis (:385 BA, 32 R, 7 D, 3 T, 2 HR, 2-2, 2.19 ERA), Sr., OF/P; Steve Cimino (.316 BA, 22 RBI, 20 R), Sr., IF; Justin Maziarz, Sr., IF; Matt Mansur, Sr., P; Josh Morton, Jr., IF; Eric VonStetina, Jr., IF; Kevin Wetzel, Sr., OF; Mike Testa, Jr., P/IF; Tyler Russ, So., C; D.J. Reape, Sr., OF/P.

Outlook: The Winged Lions have worked hard in the off-season and want to keep improving, especially in the league, although it will be difficult to go further than last year when they made it all the way to the PIAA Class AA semifinals before losing in 15 innings. ... "We're just looking to stay basically where we were last year and try to improve upon that," said Pinder. "Last year, it was an exciting season to go as far as we did. We want to go out in the PAC-10 and get better each game and see where it falls. We're going to be young on the mound. We're looking for some people to step up. We want to be competitive in the PAC-10."
